On the road again...soon...

The planning is well under way for my next road trip to visit two national parks: Rouge Urban National Park on the outskirts of Toronto and Pointe Pelee at the tip of Ontario. I’m particularly looking forward to this trip for three reasons:

First, because as noted in my Guide to the National Parks of Canada, “In May, the skies of Point Pelee National Park fill with feathers.” And the reason for the spectacle is that in May, Point Pelee is the stopping point for more than 392 species of migrating birds. This promises to be quite a sight, which brings me to the second reason why I’m looking forward to my trip.

I figured visiting Point Pelee would be perfect for a photo safari. The bad news is that I suck at taking pictures, so to make sure you wouldn't cringe when seeing my photos, I'm bringing along on this trip a professional photographer. And that photographer is no other than… my brother Jean! Jean is an awesome

photographer and to give you a taste of his talent I’ve included in this post a few of his bird photographs. You can expect some excellent pictures in blogs to come.

And finally, the best part is that joining me on this road trip will be Michel, my two sons, Ben and Jean-Charles, Jean and his two sons, Mathieu and Alexandre. It promises to be quite the family adventure!

I can’t wait!
